Man, I've been totally negleting my blog. But it's been really hectic the past two weeks with school, work, and preparation for the party. (I sound like a broken record. O_o) Just haven't had time to collect my thoughts, take much pictures, and find time to prep up an entry to mr. magikstick's journal here. (Not like there has been anything exciting to talk about anyway. :P) Well, anyhoo, I do promise an entry (other than this pseudo-entry) sometime soon. So if you actually care.. check back later, okay? Okkaayyy!

Boo. I didn't get the display on eBay. Thought I had the bidding all figured out, but alas, I was beat by a smarter asshole. :( Well, its back to the drawing board for my stupid computer. I'm actually thinking of getting a whole new laptop altogether. Or maybe I should just get a PC or something. Ooh, an Apple sounds nice. Oh fook, am I caving into the darkside??

Lately, nothing has been going my way. The fooked-up computer, the extra work hours, the piled-up school work, bleh. And lately, I've been feeling really antisocial. For some strange reason, I have this feeling inside that the world has given up on me. For what this means, I'm not sure. It's just something I have to figure out I guess.

Anyways, I'm amidst the hectic part of the week. I spoke to Gummy Bear the other night talking about the enormous stress that she's been going through. Go figure, that girl stresses over the little things. Anyways, I decided to make my own stress list, since everything seems to be a bit overwhelming right now.

Magikstick's To Do Stress List
1) Finish case on publishing industry.
2) Study for Mgmt 321 midterm.
3) Deal with the constant nagging from my parents.
4) Print and send out my invites ASAP (and thus eliminate #3 on the list).
5) Figure out what to do with my damn laptop.

Wow, I've only got three more weeks of school left. Man, it's coming up really fast. I got to come up with a plan for my life. Pronto. O_o

As long as we have the weather, the sunlight will guide us, and the rainbows will surely find us.

Mr. Magikstick has pretty been much MIA this week with the posts and such.  Summer classes have kicked into full gear, Gap gave me a bunch of hours this week, and the computer has been very unfriendly as of late.  Yep, I still have the ghetto setup; I'm still eyeing that monitor on Ebay. It's up to 150 bucks now! O_o

On my spare time in the past few days, I've basically been having brunch/lunch/dinner with some close friends.  In the past week, I've gone to Big City Diner with Monkey, Sucka, Bone Digger, and Irvine, Pho One and Volcano Joe's with Monkey, Bravos with So Fetch, and, last night, Catch of the Day with Sucka.  Hmm, come to think about it, my food spending is a little on the high end, especially because my work/school schedule prevents me from stopping by at home.  So alas, the funds are low, especially after spending mad dollars on tires.  I walked around the mall before work last night and saw some shoes and watches that I must get really want.  I think I'm gonna wait on those till after graduation.  I did get a free pair of jeans today though, woo-hoo!

I've watched quite a bit of movies this week, as well.  I'm glad I got a chance to see them; all of them were great.  Spiderman 2 really surprised me as I didn't expect the movie to have such substance in its storyline.  "With great power comes responsibility.." That line perfectly captured the essence of the movie.  Anchorman was absolutely hillarious.  The funniest movie I've seen this summer.  I finally got to see Kill Bill 2.  It was a good follow-up to the original.  And finally, Fahrenheit 9/11.  The movie was really well made.  I like the way that Roger Moore effectively used real events to tell a story filled with the irony found in movies of a fictional nature.

The other day, I accompanied Kiwee (aka Fayree) to an MBA informational meeting.  I figured it was worth checking out just to see how I could fit graduate school into my future.   I didn't realize how much options there are, and how little there are for me.  UH offers different types of MBAs (I still don't know the difference between an Executive MBA and a regular one) but none that I'm interested in.  The school does offer an MIS masters program, but I may be more interested in a marketing one.  I'll probably look into the mainland schools for that one.  We'll just see..  But it looks like I won't be going back to school for another two years since it is recommended that you have two years in the workforce.  Poor Kiwee.. she really misses school. :(

Printing at Kinko's on an 8 1/2"x 11" glossy sheet is $1.37.  The cost of cutting that same glossy sheet is $1.80.. per cut! O_o  Hmmm... where's that pair of scissors?

Fooking laptop. It's all bus up. Haven't been able to go online or do any work on the comp because the screen is all jacked. Well, I finally narrowed the problem with the monitor.. to the monitor itself. I looked online and it looks like the display costs up to 9 large ones just to replace it, not including labor and shipping costs. O_o Fortunately, I found a used display being sold on eBay. Hopefully, I am able to win the bid.. *Cross my fingers* Judgement Day: Sunday, July 18.

So yeah, for now, it looks like I'm stuck with this ghetto set up. Purrty thing, ain't it?

Summer session 2 started this week, and it looks like the last two professors of my undergraduate study are an old alcoholic looney man and a homely youthful looking Canadian with an 11 month-old and a 33 year-old daughter. Damn, this might be a long semester since I've got 4-hour classes four days of the week. O_o Caffeine and warm jackets will become my best friends in the coming weeks.

Lightly amusing thing at the gas station today.. there were nothing but old women when I went to fill my tank. What was funny was that the gas attendant was stressing because there were women who didn't know what they were doing. One lady was having problems swiping her debit card, another couldn't remove her gas cap, and another had problems trying to position her car next to the pumping station. Women drivers, no survivors?

Well, I worked on more visuals at Gap this week. It can be kinda frustrating at times, but man, I do enjoy it. I dressed up a couple of bodyforms in the store so you can check them out if you're around the area. I might be getting carried away with it though... I have an itch every now and then to head down to the store on my free time to put a couple more of bodyforms. O_o

Just a thought, after seeing the TV promo for "I Love the 90s" on VH1, it made me wonder of how great it would be to have a radio station here on Oahu of nothing but 90s music. I mean, the stations have every decade covered but sorta neglect the 90s. I guess it could be the backlash of being "yesterday's music" like 80s music was in the 90s. But wouldn't it be cool to hear songs from 90s artists on a regular basis. And I'm not talking about "flashback" stuff from mainstream artists still popular today. I'm talking about songs from those artists that came and disappeared in the decade. Remember Lina Santiago? Hmm, the idea may turn up profits.. Anyone interested in a market venture?

Sorry no real pictures this post. It's just that my fooking laptop has really brought my spirits down... Not to mention a certain someone seeing a certain movie even though she said she'd see it with a certain magikstick. Lame :(

I had the best July 4th weekend ever. Nothing but great laughs, good food, and pretty sunsets. And thankfully, there were no pink socks.

It was great to have the weekend free from completely free from school and work (aside from the Saturday morning shift at the Bank). This was the first time I had this time off since summer started. And boy, did I take advantage of it: the Integra was practically idle the entire weekend since people drove my lame ass around town. Wheeee.

Speaking of not driving, I spent Friday and Saturday night with U-Turn and friends. I'm banking on this theory that if U-Turn wears a particular pair of jeans with a black top, she'll pick my lazy ass up so I won't have to drive :) Oh the things I learned those two nights...

People love making faces

Humans can't lick their elbows. (TV personalities are human, too.)

Pink socks make people smile.

There were no fireworks display at Magik Island for me this year; instead, it was a two-day adventure with Monkey. Our day started out with dim sum at Panda's, which was a first for me. The style of serving there was weird for me. As we sat down on our table, we were instantly approached with choy sum. Then came carts of other food, of which I couldn't figure out the name of. The waitress could have just overcharged us on our order card, I wouldn't have known what was going on. O_o

After lunch and a quick nap, we headed over for a late afternoon cruise at the North Shore. Monkey wanted to take me to see the turtles, but all that was there was a large Samoan family. I guess the turtles all left to fight Shredder and eat pizza? (Okay that was lame O_o;) So we ended up at Sunset Beach for a dip in the water, some moving around to avoid the light rain, and to watch the beautiful Hawaiian sunset.

If there is anything better than July 4th fireworks, it is the beach sunset at Sunset Beach. :)

Monkey and I got dressed at the beach restroom and headed over to Jamison's in Haleiwa. The best thing about the place is eating out on the front lanai amidst the cool North Shore breeze. I had this pretty good stuffed shrimp plate (I didn't know you could stuff shrimp O_o). The meal was surprisingly filling considering I was only given three pieces. Monkey said it was because of the heavy sauce. Hmm, we were taxed twice for the meal. But the waiter was good enough to admit his mistake on the check... "I'm sorry that they charged you twice."

The Monkey adventure concluded today with lunch at Big City and "The Notebook" at Ward theatre. The movie was great with some wonderful acting. But I don't know about it being a serious tear-jerker. John, a movie reviewer guy said that he "could barely drive home because [he] was crying so hard". That John must have been a wuss.

So that wraps up my weekend. I've got a long week ahead of me: start Session 2, replace my tires, print out my invites, and find cheap green M&Ms. Know where I can find some?

I have officially concluded that my laptop is a piece of shit. It runs too hot, it's too loud, it shuts off every half-hour, takes several reboots thereafter to get it started again, the screen has messed up, the adapter is jacked, and the AC plug has to fit a certain way for it to charge. Damn HP, make something reliable, please.

I met up with my family to eat out tonight after work. (Everybody, Wang Chung tonight!) Wow, it's been a long time since I've eaten out with them. Being busy with work and all, it's been hard. I've honestly made an attempt recently to attend family functions if i could, but somehow, it's always planned when I have things to do. I had to skip my mom's birthday weekend at Ko'olina because of work. As for dinner tonight, it was really nice. I think it was one of the few times where we actually ate like a regular family, without all the bickering and such.

I attempted to get my safety check the other day (I'm one month late ><) but I only pseudo-passed. I was only given a temporary one because I have a bald front right tire. WTF? Now I have to replace it within 10 days to get the safety check sticker. And when you get tires, you have to get the whole set of four. Ouch. Damn, that's a lot of money. And according to mom, it's gonna cost $800. Silly mom, she likes to exaggerate things, especially expenditures. ("This towel was $80!") Although I know it won't cost that much, it's still gonna hit me where it hurts. *tear*

Today was the final day of summer session 1 and hence we had our marketing final. I found it so difficult studying for this exam, because I wasn't motivated to. I already had a good feel for the material, and being that Will Ferrell said that exam wasn't too detailed, I was pretty confident that I would do okay. So last night, I stayed up till 3 a.m. not studying, though, rather I was uploading things on Myspace. O_o My fear of being overconfident of the exam wasn't true, though, and I think I secured an A (not that dreaded A-) for the class.

Speaking of studying, it's hard to do it when there are distractions around you. Take Mole for example, she kept flirting with this little Japanese child at the next table. They would make a pretty cute couple though considering that they're at about the same height. Har Har.

Earlier yesterday afternoon, B-Cup met up with me at the Palms to eat lunch. So I took a break from my reading to chat it up a bit with her. I told her the story of a certain friend and her (very) protective significant other and how he is very insecure about her friendship with me. Damn, I've never met anyone who was so insecure before. I admit that I may have been a little with B-Cup when we were together, but not to the extent of this guy. Funny thing, he deleted me from his "friend's" list haha. Man, some people just need to grow up. We don't need to be playing childish games no more.

I've off and on been working on my grad party invites. I've got the layout done but now I just got to head down to Kinky's to check on printing costs, paper size, and stuff like that. I hope the tab doesn't run high, cause brotha-man got to pay for his tires. Bleh.

Looks like Makalii was true to what he said during my review; they've got me scheduled Wednesday night to do front-and-center visuals. He raised a good question: where do I want to go in the company? Frankly, I would love to work in corporate. San Fran is a great place to live and Gap corporate seems like a great place to work. Is this a possible venture into Cali in the near future? Possibly...
