Lemme See You 1, 2 Step

As U-Turn put it best, the night was "full of new experiences". Well, yes it was basically like another outing where you drink and hang out with friends, but it was just in a different setting with different people.

I joined U-Turn, Nana, and Cutlets for a fun-filled evening at the Hanohano-first-and-third-Saturday-of-every-month thing and the Living Room. (Hey, I have one of those, too!) I have to say, I really liked Hano's very much. The view is absolutely beautiful and the lighting made the venue look like a Vegas club. And we all know that Vegas knows how to party. The night started off a bit weird: while standing in line, there was this drunk Japanese woman that kept leaning on me. As time passed, the leaning turned into fixing my collar and putting her arms around my waist. O_o Thankfully we got in soon after, but only soon to find a random girl being left in a chair next to our table. Poor woman ended up throwing up and luckily U-Turn had the kind heart to help her to the bathroom.

The night was better as it moved along as we had more drinks, did a little dancing, and posed for zany photos (see above). After Hano's, we headed over to the Wharf for some great house music and some very spicy carrot thingies. We just may have to go back to those spots; it was a nice change of scenery. The night concluded with a lunch plate at Meeleeon, a satisfying meal at 4 in the morning.

I went for an eye exam last Thursday and my doctor gave me the new Acuvues. It breathes better because the contacts have more oxygen content. I love these contacts! It feels so light on the eyes and my eyes aren't as irrated from dryness. The pain in the butt though is the cleanser and a crazy looking lens case. You need to let the cleanser neutralize for 6 hours before putting the lenses on (it contains hydrogen peroxide). If not, you could really mess up your eyes. O_o

In other news, there's a site that handles cyber-marriages and divorces. I have officially tied the cyber-knot to my online buddy Athy, just for kicks. We got a nifty little printable image to print that certifies our special "occasion" Apparently we're divorcing on Wednesday cause another online buddy (who might throw a fit) comes back home.

Turkey Day is around the corner and looks like we're going to the cousin's. Haven't done in awhile. But what I'm looking forward to is Black Friday. This year it's Waikele with Mole at 6 in the morning (!) Gee, we better see some good stuff for getting up that early.

Gone Platinum, Yo

It's been a good week for Mr. MagikStick. Not the same old sitting idle in front of the computer wondering of what I could and should be doing. But more of getting things done. w00t.

Cousin Damien got married at Waikiki (um, I forgot the hotel.. yeah I'm bad at that ><)on Saturday and we arrived early to the reception, for a change. We had to wait outside of the ballroom for an eternity cause the preparations weren't finished. O_o We later found out it was because the ceremony ended sooner than expected. In fact, the whole reception was ahead of schedule. That's new especially for Filipino parties. It was the usual meet-the-relatives-you-didn't-know-you-had ordeal at the party. Funny thing, my cousin told me that everytime he does his banking (he banks with CB) he would get asked if he knew who I was. His reply would be, "I guess I do.. after all, how many Nagun's can there be?" O_o

So after great anticipation (from me), The Incredibles finally arrived at the theatres, and by the end of the weekend, I've seen the movie.. twice. The Pixar film was even greater than I expected and had a deeper meaning to it than the beautifully animated surface. No doubt, this is the best movie I've seen in a looong time and the second viewing was just as good as the first time. I'd definetly watch it again... It was totally "wicked"!

I've kept busy the early part of this week with long shifts at work and preparing for my certification test yesterday. I dreaded failing it because there were loads of info we had to know (or at least I thought we had to). I was espcially nervous of the certifier, Dartanian, observing me since I know with our type of customers at the branch, I was bound to screw up. But after a 30 minute oral quiz and performing one transaction, Dartanian said "That's it, you're done. You're platinum." So for going platinum, I get 1) more resume fodder, 2) a raise, hopefully, and 3) a shiny new platinum nametag. w00t. Can't wait for that nametag!

I found a bit of inspiration in the certification. Later in the day, I finally finished reviving my resume. Finally. And it's all in good timing, too. There is a position that I found that I'm interested in and my friends have informed me of a few openings that have great potential.

I met up Chai and friends at the OC for a club fundraiser, the first time I've gone clubbing in weeks. I think I'm getting too old for these kind of things, I got tired by the time midnight struck. O_o But Chai's pals kept things interesting. It was good to see a lot of CBA peeps there and to take a few drinks with friends. I don't remember Bud Light tasting that good. O_o

Today, I got up in time to meet up with Anti-Mexican, Stock Lisa, and her sis for a dollar double-feature (say that five times) at the Row. The movies were mediocre at best and are not worth mentioning. But I will talk about the ridiculous thing with the theater's parking validation policy. Their 3-hour validation did not accomodate our 4-hour movie event and so I ended up paying $3 for parking (Stock Lisa paid $9). It's stupid.. we were told that we had to drive out and back in to the garage to get two validations. O_o wtf?

Well, the parking thing didn't really bother me at the time. Just a minor downer to what has been a good week. Tomorrow, I gotta take care of bills and swindle a pair of contacts from the optometrist. I woke up today to find that I was missing one contact from my lens container. O_< Where could it have gone??

The Day Begins Today

Another three weeks or so has past since my last post, but it's still the same story: the same jobs, the same endless hours on the Internet, and the same unfinished resume. I need to treat myself like one of those straight guys on Queer Eye and overhaul everything about myself: my career, my habits, and my routine. I have already vowed to myself to rid of some distractions.. that means no iSketch and no less myspace.

I haven't been out much lately, choosing to do more "quiet" outings (if anything). An example is Halloween when I decided to watch Saw with Sucka rather than throw a last-minute costume together and kick it with Mole and friends. Yeah, the rain during the day had a lot to do with it, but I think it affected my mood more than anything. The truth is I'm not all myself right now... as a matter of fact, I may be feeling very depressed and lacking the confidence in myself of which I especially need at the moment as I have graduated from college. I've decided just to conquer this thing (whatever it is) by myself but it really is hard. Laziness is my achilles heel; I need to get moving.

Gee, I need to take more pictures. Magik Foto has been home for many days, it needs to get out more.
