See You On The Other Side

'Tis the moment to say farewell to blogger.. I'm moving house to a more community-type of blogging environment. No, I did not decide on Xanga (seems too cryptic), nor did I settle with MySpace (the blog settings just plain sucks). I'm at, what I hope, is a better place to express my thoughts and post photos. Blogger has been very kind to me in the past year, and I thank Mole for introducing me to the site. The freedom of manipulating the html is a beautiful thing, and publishing is just plain easy. But in the end, switching sites just felt right.

So I say farewell to my Blogger readers. If you care to know where my new blog home is, you know how to reach me.

Bye.

Out Of The Blue

I FINALLY got a cover letter finished and I applied for a position at a local ad agency. Hopefully, I get a shot at the job. In the mean time, I plan to tweak my cover letter for the upcoming postings in Sunday's paper. I've got my motivation now.. things are looking up in the near future. :)

Congrats to Doo-Doo Girl on her soon-to-be son. The Gap staff had the traditional shower get-together, this time, at Hanaki. Funny stuff with Manang Mikami: she bought Doo-Doo Girl a Valentine's Day cake and tried to cover it up. The short ones always bring the best laugh. It's always fun when the Gappers go on an outing. Usually it's So Fetch and her sidekick Boob Cakemaker that I hang with outside of work, but we should get more of them to come along next time.

Speaking of So Fetch, I went to watch Constantine with her last night. It was better than I expected, but still, the movie to watch is Hitch and the Oscar front running films (The Aviator and Million Dollar Baby).

I'm heavily considering moving my posts elsewhere to a more of a community environment. Sad to say, even MySpace may be a possibility. Anyway, if you enjoy reading this, comment me.. I'll let you know where you may find me if I decide to move the Ant Blogger.

Chow for now!

Sayoonara Sucka

Today is a sad day for Ka Leo crosswords, Oceanic Cable, and local shoe stores in Hawaii... Sucka leaves later today for San Jose.

Her departure is just one of what it seems like a trend among the people around me. Last December, Aunty Norms had moved up to the mainland and Lion Mane moved up to Vegas this past Monday. And with others planning to move up very soon, it has really made me think of myself and my situation.

I've been hesitant to apply for jobs, partly because of laziness, but there may be another reason for it. I spoke with Ginko Girl about it the other night, and she told me that I'm too comfortable with things right now. It is very true, and receiving an outside perspective hopefully will be a source of motivation that I really need right now. I've heavily contemplated moving to the mainland very soon, and thereby bypassing my plans of getting accustomed to being on my own in Hawaii first before I head up. Then I realized, I don't have much to lose and only a lot to gain if I move up now.

I guess it all depends with the job search. My friends have been finding it difficult to getting settled in good jobs and I fear that I'll run into the same situation. But then again, I'll never know unless I apply, right? I've promised to myself to getting to it, but now I'm telling myself that I have to do it.

Okay enough of this blabber... and back to the main topic: the Sucka. I met Marge back in the business college at UH and things clicked pretty well from the start. Not like it was hard at all since she happens to be one of the nicest, most caring people I've met. Marge is a dependable, caring, and trustworthy friend and I am grateful that I was able to have known her the past few years. It's very likely that I'll hang out with her up in Cali but it won't be the same. I mean, we would spontaneously hang out at Jamba Juice or plan a last-minute movie night, but alas those days are behind us.

A friend like Marge is hard to come by, and I will be sad to see her go. But the mainland is calling her: more job opportunities, a change of scenery, and the boyfriend. I'm very happy for her that she is embarking on her life journey and wish her nothing but the best.

As for me, I need to get cracking myself. A position has opened up at my work that seems like a great opportunity. I just hope I'm qualified for it. *crosses fingers*

She Came, She Saw, She Went Clubbing

Number 1 came and went, and Sucka will follow her up to Cali in a few days. *tear* Number 1, along with her thirst for the Hawaii nightlife, flew in Thursday afternoon for the weekend for a few days of clubbing and hanging out with friends...

Paddler's night at the OC was first and already, Number 1 showed signs of weakness. Girl turned red after the first drink!

Piranha room (at the OC, too) on Saturday night was a bit more fun; it was packed with good looking people, decorations, and a stripper! Still, Number 1 wasn't quite the same Number 1 before moving up to Cali... Ginko Girl actually outdrank her! But yeah, Saturday night may have been the last time I'm gonna do the clubbing scene for awhile; I haven't felt quite the same since that night at the W.

In other news, itt's the beginning of another month I'm sick once again. I felt so bad this morning that I called in sick to work today. thats 5 hours of less pay. =\ Hopefully, I can make it up tomorrow. It'd be better too since I just pumped some change into a brand new iPod Mini (chee!) I yet have to play with it as there is a $29 restocking fee should I change my mind.

Erie was able to help me out at the Apple store to help me get the "student" discount. She suggested I go with the iPod Maternity...

But in the end, I decided I didn't need those extra functions. :P

Ooh, Super Bowl Sunday is coming up!!!! My favorite holiday of the year. GOOOO PATS!
